چکیده
The first phase of insulin secretion is altered during the early stages diabetes and followed by progressive loss ability glucose to stimulate secretion. primary causes secretory defects are still unknown. Better understanding signaling pathways linked activation G-protein–coupled receptors their mutual interactions in β-cells remains crucial. This represents a prerequisite for any strategy develop therapeutic tools that aim modulate function and/or mass β-cells. review summarizes knowledge over last two years on functionally expressed β-cells, which present key features development therapy type 2 diabetes.

Impact of Magnesium Deficiency on Pancreatic β-Cell Function in Type 2 Diabetic Nigerians
Objective: Pancreatic b-cell dysfunction is described to be present at the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and progressively deteriorated with disease duration. However, its progression is variable and potentially influenced by several factors. The Magnesium (Mg) deficiency mediates insulin resistance but reports regarding its role in pancreatic β-cell dysfunction are scarce and co...

The early occurrence of β-cell dysfunction has been broadly recognized as a critical determinant of the development and progression of type 2 diabetes. β-cell dysfunction might be induced by insufficient β-cell mass, by a dysfunction of the β-cells, or both. Whether or not β-cell dysfunction constitutes a cause of reduced β-cells or vice-versa currently remains unclear. The results of some stud...

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is characterized by reductions in β-cell function and insulin secretion on the background of elevated insulin resistance. Aerobic exercise has been shown to improve β-cell function, despite a subset of T2D patients displaying "exercise resistance." Further investigations into the effectiveness of alternate forms of exercise on β-cell function in the T2D patient population ...
متن کاملβ-Cell Mass and Type 1 Diabetes
OBJECTIVE Beta-cell regeneration is a fundamental but elusive goal for type 1 diabetes research. Our objective is to review newer human and animal studies of beta-cell destruction and regeneration and consider the implications for treatment of type 1 diabetes. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Recent human and animal studies of beta-cell destruction and regeneration in type 1 diabetes are reviewed....
متن کاملPancreatic β-Cell Mass as a Pharmacologic Target in Diabetes
While the prevalence of maternal While the prevalence of diabetes mellitus reaches epidemic proportions, most available treatments still focus on the symptoms of the disease, rather than the underlying pathology. Types 1 and 2 diabetes have in common a deficit in β-cell mass. In type 1 diabetes, auto-immune β-cell destruction leads to an absolute deficit in β-cells, while in type 2 diabetes, in...
